How It Works

Listen. Read. Speak.

Parallel Story Project helps you learn language naturally through story, using a simple, repeatable method that builds comprehension, pronunciation, and fluency over time.

Listen & Absorb

Listen to professional narration in both languages, letting your brain begin recognizing sound, rhythm, and meaning—no need to understand everything at first.

Read Along

Follow the woven bilingual text as the story unfolds—English and Spanish alternate sentence by sentence (e.g., “She opened the door. / Abrió la puerta.”), allowing meaning to emerge naturally without interrupting the flow or relying on constant translation.

Shadow the Story

Speak along with the audio by repeating each sentence in the language you’re learning just after the narrator. You’ll only repeat the language you’re learning, with built-in pacing so you can follow along without pausing.

Learn Key Phrases

Review key phrases from the story using built-in flashcards—no need to create your own. Each story includes a manageable set of 5–10 carefully chosen phrases, selected for real-world use. With multiple experience levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—you can focus on what’s most helpful as you learn.

Focus on a few phrases at a time—the goal is familiarity, not perfection.

Reinforce Through the PSP Method

Revisit the story over multiple sessions, engaging with it in different ways each time. This repeated exposure helps the language become familiar and easier to use naturally over time.

Even a few minutes a day can make a meaningful difference.
